Fredric Staton

Frederic Adams Staton, of Lonoke, was a caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He left this world December 23, 2021 at the age of 83. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion Cecil and Alma Staton, also of Lonoke.

Fred was married to the love of his life, Shirley Staton for over 60 years. He was a loving father of 3 children, Robbie Staton and wife Janice Staton of Lonoke, Sharron Staton and husband Skip Raper of Cabot, and Ginger York and husband Stephen York of Oklahoma City. Proud grandfather to Grant Staton and wife Bailey, Grace Staton, Taylor Taylor and husband Matt, Allison Ferris and husband Sean, and six great-grandchildren.

The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Fred. He was a retired farmer who enjoyed many forms of gardening and bee keeping. There was rarely a day you wouldn’t see him out riding his tractor or working in his garden. It was not uncommon to see him sitting under his big tree visiting with friends and talking about the good old days. He always wanted to make sure everyone had plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables to enjoy.

Music was another of his great loves. He loved playing piano and other instruments with his family and friends. Most every family get together ended with him at the piano and everyone standing around singing and playing guitars.

Fred was a lifetime member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was a Christian man who loved the Lord and wanted to make sure everyone around him knew the Lord as well.

Fred will be honored with a service held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Church, of Carlisle, with burial to follow at Sunset Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM on Monday, December 27, 2021 at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel in Lonoke, Arkansas.
