Jerry Lee Colvin, age 78, of Cabot, AR, met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on May 3, 2022. Jerry was diagnosed with MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndrome) in December 2020. He fought bravely but recently developed pneumonia and was not able to overcome it.
Jerry served his country proudly for 35 years in the U.S. Army. After retirement from the military, he found his second calling which was serving as a funeral director for Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke.
Jerry was born on March 5, 1944, in Indiana to the late William Alexander and Gladys May Clark Colvin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, two brothers, and one grandson.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Billie Sue (Percefull) Colvin; daughters, Terri Colvin and Sherri Kuhn (Bill); son, Jerry “Bud” Colvin from Indiana; Shelli Gwatney and Brian Percefull (Toni) from Arkansas who knew him as Jerry but loved him like a dad; 10 grandchildren;14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Janet Wampler (Don) of Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Friday, May 6, 2022, at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke, Arkansas with burial to follow at Hamilton Cemetery south of Carlisle, Arkansas. A visitation will be held prior to the funeral service beginning at 12:30PM at the funeral home.
