Leonard Van Lott, 88 of Hazen, took his last earthly breath and his first Heavenly breath at 7:32 pm on May 5, 2022. He was born April 15, 1934 to LB and Marie Wilson Lott in Lonoke, Arkansas. He married the love of his life, Janetta Lackie, September 7, 1952. They would have celebrated 70 years of marriage this year.
He spent his adult life preaching and pastoring at several ABA Missionary Baptist Churches in the Central Arkansas area. He was a carpenter by trade and worked for Winrock Farms and then started his own construction business. He built many homes and businesses around the Carlisle area. Leonard and Jane were blessed with five boys and the family never missed a Sunday dinner at Mom and Dads.
He was greeted in Heaven by his parents LB and Marie Lott; sister, Avaline McCann; brother, JB Lott; son, Roger Lott; daughter-in-law Brenda Lott and grandson-in-law, Ashton Weems.
Leonard is survived by his wife, Janetta of Hazen; sons, Rick (Ray) of San Antonio, Ronnie (Pam) of Jacksonville, Randy of Sheridan, Robert (Lisa) of Lonoke; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Lott of Hazen; 2 brothers, James (Pat) Lott and Luther Lott; 15 grandchildren, David Lott, Randy Joe Lott, Jr., Clayton (Tiffany) Lott, Josh Lott, Shawna (Adam) Rogers, Karrie (Randy) Corter, Jacob (Kiersten) Lott, Samuel (Rachel) Lott, Bekka (Brandon) Rankin, Robert Lott, Jr., Alice (Todd) Hall, Chelsea (Brandon) Hinshaw, Cayla (Devyn) Anderson, Buddy (Ali) Fowler and Cassandra (Michael) Sanchez; 33 great-grandchildren, Kimberly (Devon) Gavin, Lucy Lott, Kaiser Lott, Chase Rogers, Jonathan Lott, Gabrielle Moran, Austin Lott, Lani Rogers, Taylor Moran, KateLynn Corter, Kirstin Moran, CJ Lott, Hunter Sanchez, Bailey Hall, Gracie Sanchez, Bobby Corter, Blaith Lott, Dakota Corter, Jack Rankin, Payton Glaze, Hailey Hall, Kailey Hall, Jayson Lott, Lynlee Lott, Tinley Fowler, TJ Hall, Cristofori Lott, Stetson Lott, Jude Fowler, Eva Williams, Harrell Lott, Lucca Anderson, and Elizabeth Lott, and 4 great-great-grandchildren, Jase, Knox, and Mila Weems and RJ Gavin.
Visitation will be 6-8 pm, Monday, May 9, 2022 at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the funeral home with burial following in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lonoke.
The family would like to thank the staff of Chambers Nursing Home in Carlisle for the excellent care, support and friendship to our dad.
In Lieu of flowers, the family request memorial be made to the American Cancer Society.
