Muriel Pennington, 83, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2015. He was born in the Furlow area and spent most of his life there. He attended school at the Union school in that area. He was a Korean War Veteran. He was a country boy at heart who loved gardening, loved camping but most of all loved his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Al and Mae Pennington, his brother Woodrow Pennington, his first wife and mother of his children Bonnie Pennington, his second wife and camping partner Jean Pennington, and sons Gene Pennington and Mike Pennington.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Beth and Kerry Jacks, grandchildren Chase Pennington, Malissa (Kyle) Wallace, Kara Jacks and Preston Jacks, and a great-grandson Kaden Wallace.
A gravesite memorial service will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Concord Cemetery in Furlow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lonoke County Meals on Wheels program. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Veteran’s Administration, 3C unit at Fort Roots. Arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke. www.boydfuneralhome.net.
