William "Bill" Bevis, Jr

William “Bill” Jackson Bevis Jr, 79 of Scott, departed this life on Friday, March 25, 2022.  Bill was the oldest son of William J. Bevis, Sr and Mary Jo Barnett Bevis.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Don “Bud” Bevis.

Bill began his political career in the House of Representatives in 1999.  He was a farmer by trade, but loved serving the people of Lonoke County.  He enjoyed Monday nights with his buddies at the lake house, Country Caucus with his political friends and Beech Creek Hunting Club.  He was everyone’s friend and a special Dad to his kids’ friends.

Bill leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 30 years, Kay Wilson Bevis, daughter Beth Bevis Paladino and husband Phillip, son William “Bo” Jackson Bevis,III and wife Linda, son Chuck Pope and wife Leah, daughter Kayce Pepper and husband Todd, brother Bob Bevis and wife Liz.  He is also survived by grandchildren Hunter Hearn, Shane Pepper, Ally Bevis, Will Bevis, Spencer Pepper, Helen Pope and Kaden Young and Great Grandchildren Caiden and Saylor Pepper.  He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and more friends than you could count.

Honorary Pall Bearers are the Country Caucus friends, Beech Creek Hunting Club and “The Monday Night Crew”.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 31, 2022 at All Souls Church in Scott. A visitation will be held after the service at Bevis Lake House.
