Anna Turner

Anna Lois Turner, 83 took her final curtain call on September 28, 2019, she was born in England, Arkansas to parents Ernest and Lois Eason.

Anne began her career as a bookkeeper for the Hebert Jones Motors before finding her dream job for Ike Murry as bookkeeper for Shakey’s Pizza Parlor and The Olde West Dinner Theatre. Anne took over the Olde West as operations manager in 1967, she loved the challenge and was promoted to the Theatre manager, after a few years she had the opportunity to purchase the Olde West serving as General Manager/Owner. Anne was a member of the Actors Guild Association taking on the stage name as “Anne Lowell” producing many of the theaters productions during the 1970’s before selling the business in 1975.Show business remained in her blood, she worked for the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra until retirement as Executive Assistant for fund raising, she could certainly work a crowd which resulted in some of the most successful Opus Ball Fund raising events. Anne was very generous opening her home to several nieces and nephews, she also opened her home to weekend visits for children from the St Joseph’s Orphanage. She would literally give you her last dollar to make you happy. Anne had a very demanding personality, feared by most, loved by many and certainly will not be forgotten. Anne was preceded in death by her parents, by her loving husband, John Wayne, 9 siblings, in-laws Bo and Marie Turner and Buddy, her beloved dog. She is survived by sons, John Jr (Carolyn) and Mark (Tina), and daughter, Stacy Colburn. Granny Annie/MiMi had 2 grandchildren Candice Ann Haeske (David) and Irene Colburn and great-grandchildren Noah and Lilybelle Haeske. A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 4-6 pm at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
