Arminta “Skip” Evans passed away September 18, 2021, at Life Touch Hospice in El Dorada, Arkansas.
Skip was born March 13, 1934, in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Doyne and Christine Boyd who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, and sister, Carolyn Boyd Brown.
Survivors include her children, John Evans (Mona) of Jackson, Mississippi and Colleen Benthal (Arnis) of DeWitt, Arkansas; grandchildren, Evan Benthal, Jay Evans and Whitney Maxwell; great-grandchildren, Katie and Chloe Benthal and Evan and Hayden Maxwell; nephews, Tom, Bob and Bill Brown; and cousins, Lynn Clevinger and Carol Hilliard.
Skip grew up in Lonoke, lived in DeWitt for a time, but for the last forty-seven years El Dorado was home. She loved her church family at First Baptist and her special Sunday School class members.
After retirement from the Medical Center of South Arkansas, Skip spent many years loving and caring for children at various churches Mother’s Day Out Programs. She made dear and life-long friends during this stage of her life.
She fought long and hard and is now rejoicing in the presence of the Lord.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at First Baptist Church in El Dorado, Arkansas.
There will be a private burial at Lonoke Cemetery at a later date.
