Barbara Dill

March 25, 1938 — September 2, 2015

BARBARA ANNE (Thomas) DILL,77, of Lonoke closed her eyes to this life and opened  her eyes in her Heavenly home on September 2, 2015.  Born March 25, 1938, in Detroit, MI, to the late West and Edna Maye (Jernigan) Thomas, she was preceded in death by her husband and partner Charles Dill Sr, son of the late E.L. and Clara (Henderson) Dill of Lonoke, AR.  Barbara relocated to Little Rock, AR in her teens and met Charles Dill, the love of her life in December, 1954.  With a strong foundation built on faith and love, together they shared a love for each other admired by all who knew them.

Barbara is survived by a brother, Bill Thomas, Stuttgart, AR, three children, Karen Kropf (Ed), Beebe, AR; Chuck Dill, Jonesboro, AR; Mike Dill (Karen), Lonoke, AR; seven grandchildren, Beth (Greg) Still, Rachel Chapman, Becca Chapman, Derek Dill, Blake Dill, Trey Dill, Callie Dill and great-grandchildren, Skylar and Cullen Still.

Barbara was a woman of faith with a generous spirit, always willing to give unconditionally of herself.  She always made others feel welcome, showing incredible love and compassion, and gave her whole heart with everything she did.  She used her talents, such as sewing and cooking, to contribute to her community whether that be donating homemade rabbits to local shelters and foundations or baking a batch of cookies for the first day of school.  She will be greatly missed by the many family members and friends who were blessed to know and love her.

Funeral services will be held at New Testament Baptist Church in Lonoke, Arkansas, on Saturday, September 5 th at 11:00 am where Charles & Barbara were devoted members for many years.  The service will be officiated by Bro Tim Ward, whom she loved dearly.  While her body may rest at Lonoke Cemetery, we take comfort in knowing her soul will be at peace in her eternal home, singing praises to her Lord in the streets of Glory.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 4 th from 6-8 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke, AR.  We thank the kindness and care given to our mother by the staff of Robinson Nursing & Rehab, Greystone Nursing & Rehab and the Hospice Home Care unit.  In lieu of flowers, we ask that memorials be made to New Testament Baptist Church. www.boydfuneralhome.net.
