Benjamin "Gerry" Waddell, Jr.

Benjamin “Gerry” Gerald Waddell, Jr., 60, of Cabot, Arkansas entered his heavenly home on January 31, 2021. He was born on December 2, 1960 in Little Rock, Arkansas to his parents, Benjamin “Ben” and Eva Mae Waddell.

Gerry was a lifelong member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Cabot, AR where he really enjoyed Sunday school class. He was a CPA with his own business in Cabot for 37 years. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family especially his grandkids, and they would rather be no other place than “Papa’s” lap.  He also thoroughly enjoyed spending the day on the lake catching fish with his father, or a great family meal around his parents’ table eating some of his mom’s great cooking. He loved planning and going on vacations with his wife, and many times the kids and grandkids tagged along which he enjoyed immensely.

He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents William Thomas and Jewell Estelle Waddell and maternal grandparents Robert Henry and Ollie Estelle Morris.

He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Verna Waddell; children, Courtney Southerland (Garret), grandchildren, Colton and Aubree Southerland, parents, Ben and Eva Waddell. Sister, Susan Stephens (Ty) and a host of family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Cabot with burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM at the church.
