Carlos Eugene Hamric

Our beloved dad, papa, great grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend, Carlos Eugene Hamric of Lonoke, Arkansas, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024 at the age of 79. He was born on October 23, 1944, in Berkley, California, to William Orville Hamric and Phyllis Arlene Rogers Hamric. 

Carlos is preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Ola Mae Harrison Hamric. 

He is survived by his children, William (Amanda) Hamric, Janice (Ronald) Evans, and Wayne (Melissa) Hamric; sisters, Joyce (Johnny) Haley, Mamie (Bobby) Graham and Jeanie (Marvin) Day; grandchildren, Zach (Ashley) Hamric, Brennon Ingle, Styver (Jessica) Hamric, Hannah (Johnathan) Love, Audrey (Preston) Taylor; step-grandchildren, Garret Walters, and Robyn Walters; numerous great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. 

Carlos retired from Remington Arms after a 27 year career. He also retired from the Cabot School District after a short career of bus driving. The last job he had was driving the school bus at Building Bridges. 

He enjoyed attending and serving at Harvest Fellowship Church in Lonoke. A simple and humble man with exceptional carpentry skills enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his kids and grandkids, watching the martins & hummingbirds, mowing the grass, watching westerns, and piddling. He thoroughly enjoyed aggravating his sisters and oftentimes requested meals be delivered to him. He also enjoyed going out to eat catfish and steak at Martha Jeans in Beebe or the buffet at Golden Corral. 

He leaves a legacy of faithfulness, commitment, and a hard work ethic. He will never be forgotten and will be cherished by those that know and love him. 

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00pm Tuesday, July 16, at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke, Arkansas. 

Graveside services will follow the funeral going to Hickory Plains Cemetery in Hickory Plains.
