Charles Samuel “Sammy” Hamm, born December 21, 1961, completed his seven year journey living with brain cancer on December 5, 2015 and is now united with his wife Marsha Faye in Heaven.
Sam was preceded in death by his wife; his father, Charles Buddy Hamm; paternal grandparents Charles “Snooks” and Nona Rea Hamm; uncles, Noel Hamm and Billy Ray Hamm of Lonoke; his maternal grandparents Woodie and Maxine Nunnallee and aunt Aldean Truitt of Bartlesville, OK.
Sam leaves to cherish his wonderful life his mother Louise Hamm; sister, Rene Whittenburg; daughter Sarah Elizabeth (Doug) Conner of Jacksonville; son Samuel Matthew Hamm of Grand Island, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Hannah Faye Hamm and Addison Grace Conner. He also leaves his aunt Peggy Pearson of Lonoke and many cousins and friends in Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Sam completed two tours of duty in the Persian Gulf aboard the U.S.S. Thatch and was employed by Remington Arms Co. as a mechanic, retiring due to his illness.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested that donations to the Arkansas Hospice Group in North Little Rock be given in Sam’s memory.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 19 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke. www.boydfuneralhome.net.
