Danny “Dan” Vaughn Butler, 58, was born in Stuttgart on May 28 th 1959 and passed away on June 26 th 2017 in North Little Rock.
Dan bravely served our country on foreign and domestic soil with the United States Marine Corps until his honorable discharge in 1982. During that time he was awarded three Rifle Expert Badges, and a Meritorious Mast Recognition for outstanding conduct. Dan was an avid aviation and aircraft enthusiast, pilot, history buff, and a faithful viewer of "Antiques Roadshow". As a jack-of-all trade’s handyman, including aircraft and residential contracting, he could build or repair anything that he took an interest in. Dan took his sense of humor with him wherever he went. He always had a joke, appropriate or not, for anyone that was within earshot.
Those remaining to cherish his memories are father, Jim Butler (Pat); step-father, Charlie Knott; son, Shawn Butler; daughter, Danielle Butler; brothers, Sam and Dave Butler; sister Terry Fritz; step-brothers Kenneth and JR McDaniel; step-sisters, Michelle Bower and Pam Johnson. His beloved mother, Jama Joan Knott preceded him in death.
"A pilot's business is with the wind, and with the stars, with night, with sand, with the sea. He strives to outwit the forces of nature. He stares with expectancy for the coming of the dawn the way a gardener awaits the coming of spring. He looks forward to port as a promised land, and truth for him is what lives in the stars." — Antoine de Saint-Exupéry " Wind, Sand, and Star s"
