Dorothy “Granny” Walker, 93, of Lonoke, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2018. She was born July 8, 1924 to Sam L High and Anna Wagner in Lonoke, AR. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Daniel Walker, son, John Walker and brother, James High. She is survived by son, Robert Walker, four grandchildren; Kellie(David) Huggs, Kerrie DeWhitt, Wendy Grimes(late Darby), Amy(Juan) Rodriguez, eleven great-grandchildren; Blayke, Logan, Hannah, Ashlynn, T.J., Lillian, John, Victoria, Gabriella, Esperanza, Sofia, one great-great-grandson, and a great-great-granddaughter on the way, daughter-in-law, Joyce Walker and special family, Tandee and Mack Mackert along with many friends.
Dorothy grew up attending the Wattensaw Baptist Church and later became a member of Copperas Springs in Guy, AR. She loved preparing meals enough for an entire army. Dorothy was famous for her wonderful chicken and dressing. Along with cooking, she loved caring for her flowers and harvesting a vegetable garden. Her other hobbies were crocheting and sewing. Dorothy later became a seamstress. Among her love for being outdoors, a trip to Lake Conway was the perfect spot for fishing.
