Evelyn Ford Watson lovingly known as “Granny” passed away August 31, 2024. She celebrated her 96th birthday being reunited with her family in Heaven.
Her Heavenly Birthday Celebration was attended by her immediate family, The Watsons: John O. John Ford, Phyllis, Johnie, Kimberly, and Van Rice.
Evelyn was born September 1, 1928, to Harold and Louise Ford. She enjoyed her youth along with her siblings, Martha, Mickie, Bill, and Vivian.
She leaves behind to carry on her loving legacy: daughter, Diane; granddaughter, Shari and her greats: Rachel and Blake, Nick and MK, Lilli, Matt and Erin, Dylan and Angel, Dalton and Chloe, Dayton; and her great greats: Cash, Zoey, and Baby Watson.
Also left behind “special daughter” Patricia and “special-in-laws” Herb and Pat Eggert. Her life was blessed by other relatives and friends that she treasured dearly.
She loved her greats and their friends dearly- enough that she kept a journal about all their food and drink preferences- so they would feel extra special at Granny’s.
Evelyn was a farm wife, published writer, retired Game and Fish employee, AGLOW member, the list goes on and on. Evelyn was many things to many people but most important to her was that she was known as a Christian. She never preached or shouted it but to those around her was to know God’s love. Her unconditional love and unwavering faith have been an inspiration to her family and friends.
The later years of Evelyn’s life were met with sickness. She had to let someone help her instead of her always helping others. Her giving heart just couldn’t be stopped by the sickness. She kept snacks, candy, and pretty napkins (a favorite thing) in her room, insisting that everyone take something with them when they left- no matter how many times they were in and out in a day.
Evelyn had a special love for her extended family at Fox Ridge Assisted Living in North Little Rock and Cavalier Nursing and Rehab in England, Arkansas. She was spoiled and loved it.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, at 11:30 a.m., at Brownsville Cemetery in Lonoke, Arkansas.
