Gary Franklin Goode

Gary Franklin Goode was born September 15th, 1940 in the Pettus community to the late Ted and Jewel (Castleberry) Goode. Gary passed away peacefully from complications from dementia August 14, 2024 at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife Janice Goode. Also survived by his sons, Gary (Kathy) Goode II of Clarksdale Mississippi, Steve (Christie) Goode of Vilonia, David Goode of Little Rock, and daughter LeeAnne Prickett of Benton. Sisters, Georgia (Sam) King, Anne Davis, Nancy (Rick) Jackson, Kay (Tex) Whitehead, Joy (Howard) Leatherwood, Teddy (Clint) Carr, Brother Harry (Dottie) Goode. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Ted Goode Jr, Jimmy Goode, and Ruby Holt. He is also survived by grandchildren Trey (Ashton) Goode, Martha Katharine Goode, Anna Douglas (JT) Talley, Reagan (Dylan) Ware, Dorothie Grace (Aaron) DeOrnellis, Andrew Goode, Mary Claire Good, Milli Louise Prickett, Yates Prickett, and Sarah Beth Prickett and great grandchildren Waylon Ware and Kate Talley.

Gary was of the Baptist faith and was a believer in Jesus Christ having accepted Jesus as his Savior as a young teenager. He farmed for many years in Arkansas, Mississippi, and Florida. After his farming career ended, he worked in road construction and was a truck driver as well. He worked long, hard hours to provide for his family. After retirement, he moved to Wright, Arkansas with his wife Janice where they enjoyed spending time together on the banks of an Arkansas River oxbow.

There will be a private graveside service at Weedon Cemetery in Pettus, Arkansas Saturday morning at 11:00 AM.
