Harold Jones

Harold Edward Jones was born in Marianna, Arkansas on September 6, 1954, to Levi and Lela (Jones) Holmes. He was their first born son.  He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his father, and his brother, Carl.

Harold confessed his life to Christ at an early age.  On November 18, 2014 Harold rededicated himself to the Lord, with his sister, Succila and his niece, Tonya Butler by his side.

Harold was educated in the Hazen Public Schools and graduated in 1973.  He enlisted in the United States Army on March 4, 1975.  He received an honorable discharged on January 25, 1977.  Harold worked various farm related jobs before following his father’s footsteps and became employed as a tractor mechanic with Boyd Implement Company (John Deere) in Hazen, AR, which later became AgPro.  After his employment with AgPro, Harold was briefly employed with McMullen Farms until his health began to fail.

Harold Edward Jones-son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, friend, and a collector of John Deere tractor toys died on Thursday, December 25, 2014 in Searcy, AR., with his mother and sister by his side.

He leaves to cherish his memories: mother, Lela Holmes of Alton, IL, his siblings:

Lois Boyd of Las Vegas, NV; Mugail Jones of Hazen, AR; Garland Jones(Vee) of Little Rock, AR; Vernard Jones of Jacksonville, AR; and Succila Jones of Alton, IL; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 3 at Des Arc Fellowship Baptist Church with burial in Prairie Chapel Cemetery, Hazen. Arrangements are by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke. www.boydfuneralhome.net.
