Hiram Richelieu “Rich” Hill of Lonoke, passed away on March 22, 2024, at ninety three years of age. He was born on December 9, 1930, in rural Lonoke County, to the late Beulah and Ernest Hill.
Rich was raised in rural Lonoke County, where he was one of ten kids, nine boys and a girl. He attended Lonoke Public Schools where he left after the 8th grade, during WWII, to work and help his widowed mother raise his younger siblings.
He was a lifelong farmer having worked in the areas of row crop, minnow, and later cattle farming. He was also a residential contractor, building many of the houses in Lonoke in the late 1970’s and 1980’s. He was a member of Bayo Meto Baptist Church, in Lonoke.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of fifty three years, Jerelene Duncan Hill and seven of his brothers.
He is survived by his son, Ricky and wife Cynthia of Cabot; grandson, Glenn and wife Natalie of Fernley, NV; granddaughter Julie Hill of Cabot; two brothers, Ted Hill of Dumas, and Ernest Hill of Summerville, GA; sister Beulah Pearson of Cabot, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at Bayo Meto Baptist Church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Legate Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to be made to the Bayo Meto Baptist Church.
