Hosea Leeroy Sullivan “Junior”, 92, of Furlow, passed away Sunday, December 3, 2017. Junior, as he was affectionately known, was born October 29, 1925 in Lonoke to H.H. Sullivan and Cora McNew Sullivan. Preceding in death are parents; his wife, Ila Fay Mulkey Sullivan; brothers Dale Sullivan, Herbert Sullivan, and Richard Oliver; sisters Helen “Sis” Stuckey Capreton, Jewel and Ruby Moore; Uncle Jake and Aunt Juanita McNew.
Junior is survived by many close friends and family. Including, three children: Roy Lee Sullivan, Carol Jean Wawerna, and Hosea Dan Sullivan “Danny”; one grandson Brandon Seagroves and wife Sarah; two great-grandchildren Logan and Nora; brother Dan Halcum Sullivan; dear friend Kris Prouty and her son: Walter and wife Jamie; four adopted grandchildren: Alex, Jazzy, Logan and Ian (Rambo).
Junior joined the United States Navy in November of 1943. He became a Seaman First Class and sailed on the USS Mackinaw from 1945-1947. During his time serving our country, Junior received the Victory Medal, Asiatic Pacific Medal 2-Stars and the American Theatre Medal 2-Stars.
Junior was also active in his community. He loved to dance and was an active member of the American Legion.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the following institutions whom were vital in Junior’s care: Homeinstead Senior Care, VA Homecare, Arkansas State Veterans Home and Pallative Care Arkansas Veterans Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Cemetery Fund.
