James Don Walter, known affectionately as Don, passed away on July 25, 2024, at the age of 65. He was born on June 2, 1959, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and had been a resident of Carlisle, Arkansas, at the time of his passing. Don was a devoted family man who cherished his loved ones above all else. He found immense joy in spending time with his family. Don was married to his spouse, Pamela Kaye (Snider) Walter for 35 years. Together they had two children, Madison (Abigail) Walter of Conway, Arkansas, and Morgan Walter of Stuttgart, Arkansas.
Don was proceeded in death by his parents Clayton & LaDon Walter, his sister Margaret Ann Davis, in laws Bob and Elizabeth Snider, and three brother in laws.
In addition to his family, Don had a deep affection for dogs and enjoyed their companionship. Don had a great skill and passion for being able to train dogs. He also had a joy for cooking and delighted in preparing delicious meals and finding recipes to try. Don, a member of Carlisle First Methodist Church, found solace in his faith and devoted time to reading and studying the Bible. Though he is no longer with us, Don's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Don will be dearly missed by his close-knit family, sister Sarena Hickle of Des Moines, Iowa, large amount of extended family, the Carlisle community, and friends.
Services will be on Sunday July 28th, 2024. Visitation will begin at 1:00pm with funeral to follow at 2:30 pm at Carlisle First Methodist Church with Charles Barnes and Pastor Joe Lowe officiating. Graveside will be at Carlisle Cemetery after services conclude. Pallbearers will be Coy Snider, Cody Snider, Kyle Stovesand, Butch Snider, Bo Snider, and Rob Snider. Honorary pallbearers include Heath Walker and Dillon Walker.
