Mrs. Janice Travis, of Lonoke, passed away on the 12th of September 2020. She was born September 17, 1933 to the late Leroy and Louise Fort. Mrs. Travis was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Duane Travis; her brother Charles Fort; her daughter Judith Travis; her son Charles Travis; and her granddaughter Janetta Bridgman.
Mrs. Travis was a loyal and loving family member and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards and dominos, listening to gospel music, and cooking. She was an active member of the Lonoke Community Center. Lonoke Assembly of God, and her Game Club, until her health prevented it.
Though repeatedly faced with tragedy, Mrs. Travis continued to carry herself with grace and strength. She allowed these trials to be stepping stones to becoming one of the most generous, kind-hearted, and empathetic people we know. There’s no better way to honor her than by continuing her legacy of generosity, kindness, and empathy as we continue on our own paths.
Mrs. Travis leaves to cherish her memories her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Larry Bridgman, Her Sister, Georgia Gonzalos, her daughter in law, Tammie Travis, Grandsons Nathan (Jami) Travis, Jassen (Katherine) Travis, Daniel (Mikki) Travis, and Kurt Elms, granddaughter Michelle (Joshua) Plant, thirteen grandchildren, and many other family members and friends who will dearly miss her.
