Joan Turner

Joan Elizabeth Turner (Nanny), 77 of Carlisle was called to her Heavenly home on Thursday August 25, 2022. Joan was born on January 2, 1945, to the late Arlin Warner and Lelia Bell Ingle. She loved Elvis, gospel music, and most importantly the Lord, for whom she served as a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Carlisle for many years.

Joan is preceded in death by her loving parents, daughters Lisa Green and Sherry Taylor, brother Bill Warner, grandson Billy Joe Kennedy and a great-great granddaughter Evelyn Grace Wakefield. She is survived by the love of her life of 41 years Lester “Shorty” Turner. Sons Charles (Bobbie) Cotner, Dennis (Sherry) Cotner both of Carlisle and Justin (Emily) Turner of Lonoke. Daughters DeeDee (Gordon) Maher of Lonoke, Melissa Cotner, Michelle Cotner, and Leslie (Kevin) Lenderman all of Carlisle. Brothers Terry (Gina) Ingle, Jerry (Debbie) Ingle both of Carlisle, Roger (Julie) Ingle of Lonoke, and Dennis (Karen) Ingle of DeWitt. Sisters Sissy Drye of Carlisle, Janie Adams of Searcy, and a sister-in-law Shirley Warner of Conway. She also leaves behind 15 Grandchildren, 28 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Friday August 26, at Boyd Funeral Home in Lonoke from 6-8pm. Funeral will be held Saturday August 27, at Carlisle Methodist Church at 10am with burial to follow.
