Johnny Dean Staton, 61, of Carlisle passed away peacefully at his home on December 9, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Johnny was born January 21, 1956 to the late Earnest Simpson Staton and Florance May Staton. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, brother, Billy Joe Staton, and sisters Martha Ann Staton and Emma Jean Staton.
Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Regina Annette Staton; sister, Betty (Jim) Emerson of Batesville; brothers, M.D. Staton of Lonoke, Lee (Sharon) Staton of Lonoke; many nieces and nephews, as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law to whom he was very close.
Johnny was a faithful member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School for many years. He spent many hours preparing his lessons, in hopes that his students would learn the word of God.
Johnny worked on the farm most of his life with row crops and fish. Later, he began working as a fork lift driver at HD Supply, and continued there until his health would no longer allow it. No matter where Johnny worked, he gave his all and expected little in return.
Johnny will always be remembered as a very kind, loving husband, uncle, and a friend to all who knew him.
Visitation for family and friends is Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 13 at Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Legate Cemetery.
