Joyce Skillern

Joyce Veneda Skillern, 75 years old of Carlisle, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord on May 28, 2021. She was born January 21, 1946 to the late Ray and Bessie Castleberry of Des Arc, Arkansas.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 57 years, Will “Sonny” Skillern of Carlisle, Arkansas, one daughter, Carol (Tommy) Thrift of Carlisle, Arkansas; one son, Kevin (Tracy) Skillern of Lonoke; five grandchildren, Matthew (Kelley) Thrift of Carlisle, Arkansas, Brooke (Caleb) Alexander of Ogden, Utah, Nikolas Skillern of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Lukas Skillern of Carlisle,Arkansas, and Jakob Skillern of Lonoke, Arkansas; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Lavoye (Jeanette) Castleberry and Buddy (Arlene) Castleberry; one sister Clarinda “Cricket” Hoop all of Des Arc; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Trinity Chapel Baptist Church in Carlisle, Arkansas with Bro. James Byrum officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1:00PM at the church. Internment will follow at Carlisle Cemetery.
