Kenneth James

Kenneth Earl James, 82, of Carlisle, Arkansas, passed away November 21, 2022 in Lonoke, Arkansas. Kenneth was born December 31, 1939 in Tichnor, Arkansas and resided in Lonoke County.

Kenneth was raised with his parents and siblings in Tichnor, AR.  He graduated from Gilette High School.  He married the love of his life, Margie Fay Greenhill on April 15, 1959.  Their marriage was one of love and devotion to each other with an unwavering care for each other.  To this union a daughter, Loretta Ann and a son, Christopher (Chris) Earl were born.  Kenny was a farmer and partner of K & J Farms.  Kenny farmed for Wrinrock Farms for 64  years beginning in 1958.  Kenny’s greatest love was being a Dad.  He enjoyed watching Chris perform in the band and rifle line and truly anything that Chris was involved in.  Kenny’s life was made complete when he became a “Papaw” to his two grandsons, Madison and Christian James.  He loved taking them to the farm.  He enjoyed them riding the tractors and combines with him.  He loved taking them deer hunting or just hunting.  The motto was, “What happens in the deer stand stays in the deer stand.”  He loved watching them grow up, play sports, attend school events that they were involved in, seeing them graduate from college and pursue their careers.  Kenny found great joy with family and he was lovingly cared for by his sisters Mae and Wanda.

Kenny is survived by two grandsons, Madison (Brooke) of Fayetteville, AR, and Christian (Baylee) of Lonoke, AR; Daughter-in-Law Karen James, of Lonoke, AR; sisters, Faye Oswalt, of Forrest City, AR, and Mae and Wanda James of Carlisle, AR; and brother Jesse James of Lonoke, AR.  He is also survived by a many nieces and nephews and extended family members.  Kenny had an “adopted” daughter and son, Karla Booe of Little Rock, AR and John Philpot (Sherry) of Vilonia, AR.

Kenny was preceded in death by his daughter Loretta Ann, son Christopher “Chris”,  his wife of 57 years Margie, parents Elwanda and Presley James, sister Barbara James Lee and brother Jimmy James.

Services will be held Friday, November 25, 2022 at 2:00PM at Boyd Funeral Home Chapel in Lonoke, Arkansas with burial to follow at Carlisle Cemetery. Visitation will be held on hour prior to services at the funeral home beginning at 1:00PM.
