Lewis Edward Beggs, 77, of Lonoke, Arkansas passed away on October 17, 2020. He was born January 1, 1943 in Stuttgart, Arkansas to the late James and Ada Beggs.
Lewis joined the marines in 1962 and went to Vietnam several times. He signed up for Vietnam a final time so he could make another stop in Okinawa to wed the love of his life, Haru. When he got out of the Marines, they moved to Hughes, Arkansas where he worked for the school as a bus mechanic. After retirement they came back home where he started his collection of antique Chevy cars.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Haru; two brothers, James Beggs and Dan Beggs; two sisters, Margaret Benafield and Frances Moore.
He is survived by his two sisters, Joyce Butler and Sandra Anderson; sister-in-law, Martha Beggs; numerous nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, David Hayes.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at Concord Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10:00 AM at the cemetery.
