Lois Alford Smith, born August 9, 1939, went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2013 at the age of 74 after a long brave battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her father Bee Alford, sister, Hazel Martin, granddaughter Emilee Holmes and one step-daughter. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Sherman Smith; four daughters, Rosie (Kenny) Treadway of Lonoke, Carolyn (Bill) Salyers of Benton, Phillis (William) Vance of Lonoke, Freda (Greg) Holmes of Hazen and one son Billy Williams, Jr. of Texas. Other survivors include her mother Lillie Alford Mitchell of England and a sister Peggy (Jack) Kirkpatrick of Ferndale; three stepdaughters; two stepsons; eleven grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Lois was a godly woman who attended Harvest Fellowship Church in Lonoke until her final days. She enjoyed reading her Bible, gardening, crafts and spending time with her family. She was a Prayer warrior that prayed for everyone she knew. Lois was an amazing mother and “grannyma”. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
