Marie White

February 19, 1923 — March 13, 2016

Marie Hoover White, 93, of Lonoke, Arkansas, born February 19, 1923 to Sam and Dochia Hoover in Murfreesboro, Arkansas went to her heavenly home Sunday, March 13, 2016.

She was married on November 8, 1941 to John Henry White and was blessed with seven children.

She is preceded in death by her husband Henry of 58 years, son Jerry Leon White, daughter-in-law Faye White, three brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her children, Joyce White,  Darrah (Nancy) White, Johnny White, Cherry (Jimmy) Southerland, Dean White, Beverly (Jimbo) Clement , and Becky (Lee) Shook,  Grandchildren:  Jay White, Julie Gardner (Damon Merritt), Kenny St. John, Kenny (Melissa) White, Keith White, Michelle (Brook) Knox, Brad Rollins, Kelly (Matt) Watson, Amy (Adam) Anderson, Karen (Jeff) Lemay, Randy (Jamie) Southerland, Drew Southerland, Ryan White, Jeremy White, Brock Clement, Emily (Jordan) Harris, and Alex Shook;  Great-grandchildren:  Jessica Gardner, Ashley (Lewis Simpson) and Dillon White, Alyssa White, Brayden and Logan Knox, Hayden and  Kinley Watson, Austin, Abby, and Allie Lemay, and Selah and Sophia Southerland.  Those near to her heart:  JoAnn White, Teresa White, Claudette White, nieces, nephews, and a host of loving family and friends.

She was a member of Lonoke First United Methodist Church for over 50 years.  She loved life, her family, church family, friends, cooking, working puzzles, the Wednesday and Friday Lunch Bunch Ladies outings, golfing, yard work, watching her children and grandchildren participate in various sporting events, the Razorbacks, and anyone who entered her home.  Her sense of humor, wit and infectious laugh led all who knew her to love her.  She was well-known for her hamburgers, homemade meals and pies.

The celebration of her life will begin with a visitation on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at 6 pm at Lonoke First United Methodist Church.  At which time, you’re invited to join the family in the fellowship hall to honor Marie’s life by eating a slice of pie.  According to Marie, no one should leave without dessert.  Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 2 pm at First United Methodist Church with a graveside service following at Lonoke Cemetery.  Arrangements made by Boyd Funeral Home of Lonoke.  Special thanks to Greystone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their love and care.  www.boydfuneralhome.net.
