Marilyn Butler

March 20, 1965 — July 11, 2020

Carlisle

Marilyn Ann Stivers Butler age 55, of Carlisle, passed away peacefully on Saturday July 11, 2020 at home while being surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren after a long, hard battle against cancer.

Marilyn was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana. She had a vivacious personality and always made people laugh. She loved to go camping with her sisters and all of their kids (even though they knew it would storm at least once, everytime). She was creative and could take anything she found and make it fabulous. She liked to spend time going to flea markets or yard sales only to find something she could make look amazing and give it to someone she loved. She had a smile that was warm, caring and contagious. She made friends everywhere she went, she never met a stranger and is loved by so many of her family, friends and community.

God whispered your beautiful name, going to the land of no more sorrow and no more pain. Marilyn took everyone in and treated them as her own. Showing them no matter what they were not alone. So kind, so pure, a beautiful soul we all valued and held so near. So spread your beautiful wings and fly my dear in our hearts is where we hold you near. Until we meet again we will always remember all the precious moments and memories we all had together.

Marilyn loved to care for and help people in any way that she could no matter what their circumstances were. She was a compassionate CNA for many years, who loved her residents and loved to hear their different stories from all their walks of life. Even though Marilyn had several job paths throughout her adult life nothing meant more to her than her family and being a proud Nana.

Marilyn is the loving mother of Samantha (Ricky) Butler of Carlisle, David (Haley) Butler Jr and Travis (Lacey) Butler of Lonoke, Megan (Shane) Butler, Brandi Lynn, and Jody Maychel of Carlisle.

Adored Nana of Nathan, Cory, Emily, Avery, Lucy, Caiden, Hayden, and Brianna Grace.

Darling wife to the late David Butler Sr.

Loving daughter of the late Charles “Jody” Stivers and Ruby “Lucille” Stivers of Carlisle

Dear sister of Carolyn (David) Underwood, Sandy (Ray) Scrimsher, Charles Stivers and Larry Stivers of Carlisle.
