Martha Meharg
June 26, 1946 — February 10, 2017
Martha Patricia Shane Meharg, age 70, went to her heavenly home on February 10, 2017. Known affectionately to many as “Meme,” she was the owner of Tricia’s Stitches & Gifts in Lonoke and had also previously owned Tricia’s Daycare in Cabot for 30 years.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Thomas “Bud” Meharg. She and Bud had 3 children, Anderia (Vince) Mahon, of Lonoke, Jason (Betsy) Meharg of Clarksville, and Shannan (Eric) Newkirk of DeValls Bluff. She had 12 grandchildren – Tyler and Logan Mahon and Haley Mahon Wilson; Abby, Jack, Lydia, Lily, and Josh Meharg; Hope, Hannah, Hunter, and Holly Newkirk. She is also survived by her sister, Barbara Nicholson of Searcy and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Homer Shane, mother, Anna McDougal Shane, and her brother, Leslie Shane.
Visitation will be at Lonoke Baptist Church on Sunday, February 12 th , from 1:00 to 3:00. Visitation will be followed immediately by the Funeral to also be held at Lonoke Baptist Church starting at 3:00. A private graveside for family will follow on Monday morning in Pleasant Plains.
