Michael Wilson

Michael John Wilson of Furlow, Arkansas lost his battle with Alzheimer’s Disease and transitioned to his Heavenly home Friday, July 9, 2021 at 5:33 a.m. with his loving wife, Becky at his side. Mike was born June 21, 1952 in Little Rock to John L. Wilson and Joyce Moore Wilson MacFarlane.

Mike graduated from Lonoke High School in 1970. Upon graduation he joined the AR Army National Guard, Signal Unit 212 serving 22 years before retiring. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad (MOPAC), retiring at the age of 60 in 2012.
Mike was Christian, soulmate, daddy, pawpaw, brother, friend, avid sportsman and all-around athlete. He loved his God, family, and country. God loved you first, so we let you go knowing how very much you were loved.

Mike is survived by his wife of 49 years Becky Chivers Wilson; daughters, Melanie Potter (John), of Cabot and Amanda Shephard, of Lonoke; grandchildren, Arianna Wilson, Jaden Potter, Jarah Potter and Jalon Shephard; sister, LeNita MacFarlane; and stepfather, Don MacFarlane, both of Little Rock; together with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

He was predeceased in death by his parents and brother, Billy Carl Wilson.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and thanks to the staff of Lonoke Health and Rehab, Baptist Health ER, Baptist Health ICU Unit 4, 3 South and Baptist Health Hospice for the compassionate care shown to Mike and family during this time.

A Celebration of Mike's life will be held Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation at 1:30 p.m. at Concord United Methodist Church, Furlow, Arkansas. Burial will be private.
