Mildred Northcutt

Mildred M. Rettig Northcutt died September 6, 2013. Mildred was born in Chambers community Northeast of Lonoke to Will and Emma Stauber Rettig on January 20, 1926. She was prceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years Rex Northcutt, and brothers, Albert, Daniel, Neil, Lem and a sister, Marie Rettig. She was saved July 13, 1939 at Chambers Church where she taught Sunday School for 42 years, was Song Director and Pianist for many years. She then moved her membership to First Baptist Church in Carlisle in 1984. She, her brother Lem and Rex used to sing many specials in the community.
She has two daughters, Debbie (Ron) Humway and Delores (Johnnie) Madar, four grandsons, Russell and Zachary Humway, Ben and Adam Madar; also surviving, five great-grandchildren, Will, Paeli, Lilli, and Sarah Humway and Lydia Madar.
She worked at Ford Bacon and Davis War plant in Jacksonville during WWII making detonators for the bombs. Her brother Lem Rettig was in the country of England handling the bombs and her brother Daniel was in Africa. Also she worked at the rice mill in Carlisle.
Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., September 7, 2013 at Carlisle First Baptist Church with Funeral Services following at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Carlisle Cemetery. A special thanks to Chambers Nursing Home and Baptist Hospice.
