Neola Carlene Magee

Neola Carlene Magee, 86, of Carlisle, Arkansas, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2024. She was born on May 26, 1938, in Carlisle, to Mary and Ed Armstrong.

She is survived by her sons, Joe Edward Magee of Carlisle, AR and Bobby Magee (Thanh) of Houston, TX; and daughter, Carlene Rhodes of Carlisle, AR; grandchildren, Brandy Swaim (Kevin), Daniel Magee, Eric Cole, Bobby Magee III and Jon Magee; great grandchildren, Noah, Brooklynn, Daniel, Edward, Noble and Honesty; brother, Ray Armstrong; sister, Janice Highfill; two special friends, Carlton and Sarah Finch; extended family and a multitude of friends.

Neola is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bob Magee Sr.; parents, Mary and Ed Armstrong; brother, Everett Lee Armstrong; daughter-in-law, Carol Magee; son-in-law, James Rhodes; and great granddaughter, Logan Roper.

Neola held many roles and her family was the most important. Her children were her life’s work and she took great joy in it. Neola and Bob took great strides in making memories with their children. Neola loved to go on adventures and would take the family traveling often. She enjoyed being outdoors and camping, especially when it came to fishing. When the grandchildren came later, they became Neola’s heart. 

Neola’s warm spirit never encountered a stranger. She wore a beautiful smile every day that served as a comfort to those who loved her, which were many. 

Memorial services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., at Immanuel Baptist Church in Carlisle, Arkansas.
