Ray “Charles” Miller was born April 12, 1957 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Obie Miller Jr., and Cubitha Drayer Miller. Charles, transitioned from this life on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Baptist Health Medical Center, North Little Rock, Arkansas with his wife and children by his side. Charles was preceded in death by his father, Obie Miller Jr.; mother, Cubitha Drayer-Miller; two sisters, Alma Miller and Faye Miller McCuien; one brother, Larry Miller and a niece, Pamela Jean Bridges.
Charles was a devoted member of Gateway Fellowship International, along with his wife.
Charles retired from the Lonoke School District after 38 years in May 2014. He had a passion for cars, fishing, auctioneering, buying and reselling, participating in all of the Lonoke High School functions, especially the “Dad Daughter Dance”, with granddaughter Kensley “Even though, he was the “Granddad”. Charles could be seen riding around town, visiting the Shell Gas Station and Pruett’s with his little “Road Dog” Kelton. He enjoyed fishing and sometime would take his granddaughter, Kensley, along with her pink fishing rod as well as shooting in the country.
Charles, leaves to cherish his memory, wife of twenty-five years, Marcia; two sons, Antrone Miller and David (Aimy) Russell both of Lonoke; three daughters, Deanne Miller, North Little Rock; Sherdan (Derrick) Mosley, Lonoke; Margaret Russell of Jacksonville and nephew, Chris Harding; thirteen grands, Antrone Miller Jr. (AJ), Ashlynn Miller, Deven, Aspyn, Simiya and Asia Mosley; Tyshaun and Jacquez Ramos, Anthony Carroll, Zackariah and Corian Lewis and Kelton and Kensley Russell;; six sisters, Ruby (Winston) Gooden, Hazel Sells, and Mary Bledsoe all of Lonoke; Diane (Farris) McClain, Jacksonville; Ellice Scales, North Little Rock; Barbara Miller, Columbus, Georgia; four brothers; William Sheridan (Martha) Miller, Robert Lee (Gail) Miller both of North Little Rock, Obie (Bobbie) Miller, Jr., Little Rock; and Theodis Carniel Richards of North Little Rock; three sister in-laws; Sherdan Swaison, Colon, Panama; Lostenia Harding, New Jersey, Enoveva Harding (deceased) and six brother in-laws; Carlos and Juon Harding, Evaristo and Jerimiah Swaison all of Colon, Panama; Alberto Harding, New York; and Carlota Swaison (deceased); one uncle, Roy Coleman (Eloise) of England, Arkansas; one aunt, Geraldine Washington, California and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Viewing will be Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Gateway Fellowship International, 101 Alice Lane, Lonoke, Arkansas 72086. Funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Lonoke.
