Robert Cooney

Robert Alexander Cooney, 78, of Lonoke, Arkansas was born November 26, 1944, in Wattensaw, Arkansas to the late Alexander and Mattie G. Cooney. He professed his faith in Christ at an early age.

Robert worked as a farmer most of his life. He loved his family especially his nieces and nephews. He had a special love for animals, especially horses and cows. Known to some as the Wattensaw Rabbit, he never met a stranger because of his gentle personality. He was kind and caring to anyone that he came in contact with.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Mattie Gertrude Cooney; three brothers, AJ Cooney, Henderson “BayRay” Cooney, and Claudie Cooney; and one sister Ardia Briggs.

He is survived by his daughters, Angella Perry (Son-in-law Myron Perry) and Tonia Fuller; stepdaughter, Janice Curlett; four grandchildren, Rashad Perry, Teyana Williams, Darius Tyler, and Brandon Perry; two brothers, Clarence and Luther Cooney; five sisters Thelma Cannon, Addie Mae Willis, Louella Cooney, Earline, and Annie Cooney; ex-wife, Charline Cooney-Bryant; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Boyd Funeral Home with burial to follow at Sunset Cemetery in Lonoke, Arkansas. There will be a come and go visitation from 9:00AM-5:00PM on Friday, December 16, 2022, at Boyd Funeral Home.
