LCDR Robert J. “Red” Sunderman, USN, Retired, age 83, born July 2, 1929, passed away January 10, 2013. He spent his first 20 years near England, Arkansas, spent next 30 years in the U.S. Navy, retired in Cabot area, ran Red’s Refrigeration for 25 years and remaining years in retirement at 120 Red’s Drive, Austin, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore “Ted” and Narveller Sunderman, wives Olga M. Camp, and Nancy M. Sunderman, stepchildren Victoria Cooley, Paul Chappue and Martin Chappue..
Survivors include his wife Jeanie Ruth Sunderman, brother, Waldo A. Sunderman of Batesville, son Robert Wayne Sunderman of Bradenton, Florida, stepchildren Dian Bales of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Christopher Chappue of Austin, Cindy Cooley and Rhonda Harris of Cabot, Alisha Guest of Alexander, and Kyle A. Stane of North Little Rock and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
