Shirley Ann Brooks

Shirley Ann Brooks, 82, of Lonoke, Arkansas passed away Friday, July 7, 2023.  Ann was born in Helena, Arkansas on January 2, 1941 to Walter Marion Henderson and Ruby Elizabeth Yelvington Henderson.  
Ann was a devoted Christian and ordained minister.  She loved to go to women’s Christian conferences and absorb the word of Jesus.  She would often times witness and preach to the inmates in the local prison system.  
Ann was a wonderful homemaker and had a very keen eye for decorating and always kept her home decorated with the latest of styles and with each holiday.  She was also a wonderful cook and loved making fried pies and fried chicken.  

Ann was proceeded in death by both her loving parents; her only daughter, Carmen Angela Stokes; three husbands, Ralph Wall, William (Billy) Reynolds and Carl Manuel Brooks.  

She is survived by two sons, Jordan Henderson Wall and wife Crystal of Lonoke, Ralph Marion Wall and wife Carolyn of Little Rock; one sister Jane Kerr and husband Stanley of Helena; grandchildren, Zachery Wall, Elizabeth Ann Waddell (Brandon), Kelsey Cruce (Reuel); great grandchildren, Huck Waddell, Jude Waddell, Ethan, Elijah, Gabe, Bryn, Annie and Thatch Cruce.  
Ann will be deeply missed by her loving family and many friends.  

The family would also like to extend a very special thank you to her longtime caregiver Cindy Montgomery and her dear friend Ms. Bobbie Jones for all her love, support and life-long friendship.  

The service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 11, 2023 with visitation starting at 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at the Boyd Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be at Hazen Cemetery.
