Not so long ago, on September 21st the year 2000, in a galaxy called our Earthly home, Sydney Marie Pack was born to David E. Pack and Shawn Patrom Pack. She passed away on December 29th, the year 2017 to Heavens Galaxy surrounded in love.
Anyone who knew her and her lions heart was well aware of her adoration all Star Wars, hence the theme we have chosen to honor her along with her JRAFROTC, Band and personal accomplishments.
Sydney was raised in the Cabot/Austin area and was a junior at Cabot High School. She was a valued member of the JRAFROTC and was a trumpet player in the high school band. She was a fierce gamer and a great river pole fisher. Her talents, incredible wit and intelligence were impressive to many. After scoring high on her military aptitude test, Colonel Havens told her she could write her own ticket with a military career. She was strongly considering a navy enlistment focusing on nuclear weapons program. She also had a passion for language and considered a law degree. There was much to think about for her future as a Class of 2018 graduate.
We want to thank the Cabot school district for her education and the opportunities that push the students towards excellence. Your work is undeniable professionally and personally.
To Colonel Havens, your staff and cadets, thank you for your comradery and brotherhood. The discipline, citizenship and pride of country taught is beyond words to be said. She truly loved this organization and all that it represented.
To the Cabot Band staff and students, thank you for bringing her from First Note to being an accomplished trumpet player. She loved being part of the competition marching band and the pep squad band. Thank you for this wonderful staff, group of musicians and the talent you all share.
We want to thank all of the Lonoke City and County First Responders who executed a flawless emergency response. You provided critical care skills and quick coordination for a high level care transport. You also had the capacity to provide emotional/spiritual care to the family on site. No words can express our gratitude in this moment.
Thank you to Children’s Medical Center Critical Care staff for your relentless, commendable efforts to save this precious life. A bright moment to cherish in this loss is that Sydney was able to be a tissue donor through Aurora. We are forever in debt for your efforts and the hope that her donations will change lives.
Most especially, to her friends, thank you for your love and deep friendship. We all have a mountain of loss to overcome and regain our joy in our memories. Together you can all do this and push hard for your dreams and a bright future. Stay close to each other, your family, your school staff and your faith during this time of loss. And always, “May the force be with you”. –Obi Wan Kenobi
