Sylvia Kaye Rice was born to the late Leo and Beatrice Crawford on July 8th, 1941 in Humnoke, Arkansas. She was a born again Christian and went to be with her Lord and Savior on May 14, 2013 after a long battle with cancer.
Kaye worked as a waitress after high school and then made the move to Irving, Texas, a place she called home for the last 50 years. Kaye, along with her husband, was a retired barber. Kaye will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed spending time with them. When you visited her house, she had a way of making you feel right at home. She enjoyed playing all kinds of games, loved life and could always make you laugh. She was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Rice, great-granddaughter, Chloe Bradley, brothers Robert, Willie and Jimmy Crawford. She is survived by her sons, Johnny Rice (Marilyn Stroud) and Jack Rice; grandchildren, Michelle (Adam) Bradley, Jeff, Melanie, and Jordan Rice; great-granddaughter, Madison Bradley; great-grandsons, Cullen and Mason Bradley; six sisters, Margaret (Paul) Fisher, Doris (Haynes) Carter, Patsy Wilson, Sue (Ray) Green, Phyllis Wilder, and Deborah (Joe) White; two brothers, Bobby and Kim Crawford; several nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 17 at Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke.
