Celebrating the life of Velma Joyce (Howard) Donahue, 76 years born February 18, 1946, to the late George and Bertha Wilson Howard in Lonoke County. She was the sixth oldest of 10 children.
She accepted Christ at an early age at St. John Baptist Church in Lonoke, Arkansas under the late Preston Benson. She was currently a member of the Mother’s Board at St. John Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Byron Calhoun, Sr. She worked at Remington Arms for 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her daughter Sandy Lynette Donahue Pettus and granddaughter Jade Alexandria Frazier; sisters, Bertha Lee Williams, Lucille Holloway, and Wilma “Jean” Carroll, and brother, George Howard, Jr. “Lemmie”.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 56 years, the love of her life, Justus Donahue; daughters, Terry Donahue Blake (Dale), Tonya Donahue; grandchildren, Jared Hofler, Justin Hofler, and Brittney Duke (Neal); great granddaughter, Kianna Hofler; sisters, Dorothy Jimerson, Nathelma Cole, Shirley Green, Judy Harris; brother, Larry Howard and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Lonoke Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Sunset Cemetery. A visitation will be from 5:00-7:00PM on Friday, September 9, 2022, at St. John Baptist Church in Lonoke, Arkansas.
