William "Dub" Taylor, Sr.

William Grant “Dub” Taylor, Sr., 84, of Cabot, Arkansas passed away November 12, 2021. He was born in Cabot, Arkansas on June 2, 1937 to the late Johnny and Lois Taylor.

Dub served for 20 years in the Navy and retired as Chief Petty Officer Taylor. He was praised for his hard work, integrity, leadership, guidance, and complete fairness to all people. After retirement, he started a second career and worked at Dassault Falcon Jet for 30 years until his second retirement as a Senior Planner.

Dub loved many things and found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved to sing hymns and listen to Gaither music. He loved to travel and to camp. He loved all things with wheels, motorcycles, four-wheelers, cars, and tractors. He loved to fish and hunt. He loved to work around the house and build things. He loved animals and working in the barn and hay fields. He loved boats and airplanes. He loved history and reading. He loved laughing.

Dub loved abundantly and without shame. He loved God and was a faithful servant. He poured his heart and soul into his work at Russell Chapel Church of the Nazarene. He loved his country and faithfully served. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran with the US Navy. He served his country with pride. He loved his family and worked tirelessly to provide for them. Dub’s pride was in his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His passion and integrity to those he loved was unwavering. He loved people, all people. Dub left a lasting impact on everyone that he met.  Anyone who knew Dub, knew love and was touched by his kindness, gentleness, humor, and wisdom. He was the calm anchor in every storm.

He will be remembered by his legacy of love.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Johnny & Lois Taylor; brothers, Bobby Taylor, Buddy Taylor, Marvin Taylor, Wayne Taylor, and Edward Taylor; sister, Imogene Taylor; sons, William (Junior) Taylor, David Taylor and Glenn Taylor and grandson, James Taylor.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Taylor, and a large family; daughters, Amanda (Chris) Picard and Rena (Robert) Hightower; sons, Lloyd Taylor and Dwayne Taylor; grandchildren, William (Buddy) Taylor, Billy Taylor, Angie Stanley, Niki Taylor, Faye Taylor, Rebecca Dixon, Cindy Taylor, Jerry Moore, Bobby Hightower, Ricky Moore, Anthony Hightower, Michelle Hightower, Taylor Midkiff, Diana Tripp, Joey Taylor, and Paige Dearie; great-grandchildren, Faith Taylor, Rachel Taylor, Courtney Taylor, Alyssa Taylor, Bryleigh Taylor, Chloe Palczynsky, Tristan Stanley, Dustin Stanley, Brandy Taylor, Amber Campbell, River Williams, Maggie Williams, Landon Hillman, Alexis Hillman, Bryson Hillman, Dayvid Dixon, Cache Dixon, Easton Taylor, Beau Taylor, Tot Mitts, Cameron Moore, Nickalye Moore, Dylan Moore, Alexis Hightower, Haleigh Hightower, Liam Hightower, Charlie Summers, Michael Tripp, Breanna Tripp and Aubrey Pennock; great-great-grandchildren, Trinity Lopez, Noah Lopez, Ivy Campbell, Zachary Self Jr., Benjamin Self, and Brennan Williams

A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Russell Chapel Church of the Nazarene in Cabot, Arkansas with burial to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00PM on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at Boyd Funeral Home, 207 E 2nd Street in Lonoke, Arkansas.
